eBay auction

I have a new item up for auction on eBay today! This is a wood basket I found and it had just the wings on it and cut outs for the bat heads on both sides. I made the handle from pine branches and attached them to the sides. I sculpted the faces of the bats with air dry clay and painted them then attached them. Then I sculpted the picks from polymer clay and painted those. I bought the black roses and a sheer black scarf to fill in around them. I think it turned out pretty cute! It looks better in person.

EHAG in print!

Well, I have to tell you the group I belong to on Ebay "EHAG" has a lot of artists that are being published. Joyce Stahl of Enchanted Productions and Scott Smith of Rucus Studio are in Art Doll Quarterly! Congratulations to you two!

My Home Town

I took a ride on my bike the other day and I took some photos of my home town. I like the flower baskets hanging up downtown. There are some really nice murals here too. The top picture is our local book store and then third one down is the bakery.

EHAG Challenge

Well, let's see... here is a peak at my new one of a kind Halloween painting for the EHAG challenge, "Harvest Moon Howl". I will be listing this on Sunday night, the 16Th. I used my sculpting and painting abilities to bring this piece to conception. When I heard the title of the challenge, the first thing that popped into my head was the moon. I really like the moon and have used it in many of paintings and sculptures. The howling part had to be a cat, a black cat of course, and so the artwork developed.

My 50th post!

Creative good Monday to everyone!

Up date on WIP's . My folk art doll is coming along nicely. I need to get some clothes on her and shine her boots. This is the first time I have try to make a doll of this type. Her head and shoulders and torso are one piece and I used wire for her arms and legs. I stuffed her cloth body with fiberfill. I wanted her to look old so after painting her face I used a walnut glaze to give her an antiqued look.
I hope to have and up date on my EHAG challenge piece tomorrow.
